How to Draw Eyebrows
Welcome to this drawing tutorial! If you are learning how to draw eyes I have a worksheet below that can help you practice, on the 4th page we go over drawing eyebrows and eyelashes.
Step 1. Box
To start off we are going to put down some guidelines for where we want to fill in the hairs. Guidelines are a great way to establish the overall shape and proportions before getting into the details. I will be drawing using a pen for the hairs so my guidelines will be darker but if you are drawing completely in pencil make sure to keep your guidelines very light.
First step is that we draw a rectangle that is long, the edge closes to the nose will be slightly bigger than the side away from the nose.
Step 2. Tail
Add a triangular shape that connects to the small side of the rectangle, I like to think of this as the tail of the eyebrow,
Step 3. Add Hair
Start drawing in hairs that gradually curve out and away from the left side. Notice how the hairs on the left are pointed upwards while the hairs towards the right side are moving out.
Step 4. Tail Hairs
Keep adding hairs and making the longer and more horizontal. Pay attention to the direction of the lines you draw, getting these hairs right will give your drawing a nice flow.
Step 5. Fill
Once you have the main hairs in, start adding in more hairs as you see fit and fill out the eyebrows. If you want lighter eyebrows you can skip this step. The size, shape and darkness of the eyebrows you draw can have a huge impact on the character of a face.
Step 6. Erase
Erase away any guidelines or small mistakes, doing a little bit of clean up can go a long way :D
