What is Inktober?

Inktober is a drawing challenge where artists do daily ink drawings throughout the month of October. Artists are given daily prompts for their drawings which helps people generate ideas and also creates a sense of community since everyone is trying similar themes.

Who created inktober?

Inktober was initially started by Jake Parker who is a renowned illustrator and storybook artist who wanted to challenge himself. With his following of artist students who look up to Jake, they collectively began the challenge back in 2009.

Inktober Blows Up

Inktober quickly gained momentum as more and more artists joined in on the challenge and spread across social media. Artists and art fans alike look forward to the month of October because its a time of year where tons of beautiful art gets made and sold. Many independent artists have found their footing during the challenge because of the outpouring of support from art appreciators.
