Spirit of Patience
Dear friend,
I admire your ambitious vision and work ethic but don't let it get the best of you. Work with urgency but don't be fooled into thinking that there is something beyond the process.
From your letters it is clear to me that you aren't satisfied with the current circumstances, you crave change and growth. You want to create a better world for yourself and the people around you, which is an honorable trait. You won't, however, be able to achieve these things if you resist the reality you live in.
To solve any problem you first need to see the problem with clarity. You will miss crucial steps if you don't respect the process. Keep in mind that it is easier to make things worse than it is to improve upon what is already there. Don't resist these obstacles, welcome them with open arms because they will teach you the necessary lessons to become the type of person you dream to be.
Ask yourself why you are in such a hurry to get to the end, do you assume that your hunger for improvement will disappear? Do you think the achievements will wash away the inherent suffering of being alive? Are you depending on external validation to prove that your existence is of value?
You will only ever have the present moment and you won't have the freedom to see its beauty without a focused mind. It is the details of your day to day life that will make all of this worth it. It is all the small nuggets of light that will add up to a fulfilling life.
Let your vision of the future guide your path but don't use it as shackles around your ankles. Spend your day to day focused on what is in front of you, respect that the challenges you see are there to serve you. If these things were easy to solve, they wouldn't be valuable.
Make peace with the void that you feel in your chest. Remember that the shadow appears darkest when standing in front of bright light.
