Gati, Spirit of Wind
As we set out on this journey, to document the spirits of Bear region, I am starting to wonder where the inclination towards this project came from. At some point during my life it suddenly seemed obvious that this was the project for me. It feels like there is a deeper part of myself that made this decision, and left me to take the leap of faith to see it through.
I am beyond excited to make this expedition a reality, but I am also worried that it will fail. Days before we set out I was oscillating between excitement and anxiety, but now that we are taking our first steps forwards I am confident that this is the right decision. I will find a way to make this work.
It has been challenging to get used to the terrain and travelling for so many hours, but morale has been good. Everyone seems excited to spend time around these magical creatures. We can feel the presence of the wind spirit throughout these lands; hopefully it will show itself soon.
The team is starting to worry about funding for the project. We have been travelling for some time now and if we don’t send back some results, the project will get halted. Although I agree that their concerns are warranted, giving up will never be an option. Even if we run out of funding I will forge a path forwards.
We can see the Spirit on the horizon and we have chosen to approach it slowly. Its difficult to stay back because the inner child in me just wants to run towards it, and try to get its attention. I can feel the excitement in the team; we actually made it to the first one. I guess this project wasn’t total delusion, its real and its happening the way I wanted it to.
